Ottawa incentivizes electric vehicle purchases; Nova Scotia makes them more expensive

Claudia Chender, the leader of the official Opposition NDP, said Tuesday the levy on EVs and hybrids is "absolutely ridiculous," and in the span of one day she's heard from "hundreds" of concerned Nova Scotians on the topic.

"This (levy) represents the only significant tax in our budget, which is going to be on people who are just trying to do the right thing," Chender told reporters.
