Dartmouth Lakes History of Action

As elected officials and neighbours, my colleague Susan Leblanc, MLA for Dartmouth North, and I have been listening to the conversation around the health of our Dartmouth lakes for some time. The presence of Floating Yellow Heart, blooms of blue-green algae, and the ongoing nuisance of weeds in the lakes are all signs that the environment is at risk. In addition to keeping people from enjoying the beauty of Dartmouth and threatening our natural habitat, these pressures also have a potential impact on the upcoming competitions and other recreational activities on our lakes.

If you believe an individual or company is breaking the rules set out in the Environment Act make a report to 902-424-7773.
