‘I truly can’t rest’: Disability caregivers say their relief is incomplete after budget cut reversal

“I certainly will now be on the other side of caution,” Boudreau said at Province House Wednesday. “I am now more aware that the government can take away Brian’s daily needs in an instant.”

Boudreau and two other women, who also care for family members with disabilities, joined NDP Leader Claudia Chender for a news conference about the Houston government’s budget cut reversals.

“These families spend their lives fighting for insufficient resources,” Chender said.

The stress the Houston government has added to their lives over the past few weeks is "unconscionable,” she added.
