Houston bristles at questions about staff costs

NDP Leader Claudia Chender said Houston’s reaction to the questions reflects someone who “does not want to be held accountable or responsible.”

Chender said the premier turned questions about the government budget into something personal.

“You have the people across this province who are public servants who are working hard, who are losing their jobs, who are facing cuts in every department, and you have a premier who seems to think he needs his own personal lawyer," she told reporters.

"That’s a very fair question.”
