As the school year draws to a close, June is always an exciting time in Dartmouth South. Students are preparing for summer break, families are celebrating graduations and milestones, and our community is looking forward to all the activities that make this season special. I want to congratulate all of our students, teachers, educational assistants, support staff, and families on another successful school year. Your hard work, dedication, and resilience help make our community stronger every day.
It has been another busy and inspiring few weeks here in Dartmouth South. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend COVE Demo Day, where local entrepreneurs and innovators showcased their incredible work. It was exciting to see so much creativity, talent, and forward-thinking happening right here in our community. We are fortunate to have COVE and its growing network of innovators in Dartmouth South, helping to create opportunities and drive economic growth in our region.
I was also delighted to welcome the Newcomer Choir to my constituency office recently. The choir, which sometimes rehearses in Dartmouth South, joined us for a conversation about provincial politics, the role of an MLA, the function of a constituency office, and the many provincial programs and services that we can help residents navigate. I always enjoy opportunities like these to connect with community members and answer questions about how the government works. We love hosting groups at our office and helping people become more engaged and informed. If your organization, club, class, or community group would like to visit, please reach out, we would be happy to arrange a tour and discussion.
There are plenty of wonderful events coming up in Dartmouth South as summer gets underway. Alderney Landing will be hosting its Fine Art Camps, offering young artists a chance to explore their creativity throughout the summer. On July 1, the Dartmouth Community Concert Band will perform from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a great opportunity to celebrate Canada Day with live music! Looking forward to seeing and chatting with you all this summer!
Your input and engagement is so important. Whether through emails, phone calls, meetings, or conversations at community events, hearing directly from residents helps inform the work I do every day. Thank you to everyone who has reached out recently to share concerns, ideas, and feedback. Please continue to stay engaged and advocate for the issues that matter most to you.
Pop into my office and let me know what your priorities are! Hope to see you soon.
As always, if you need assistance, please reach out to my office at 902-406-2301 or claudiachender@nsmla.ca
Have a wonderful weekend,
Claudia
