It’s finally starting to warm up around here, and hopefully all of this rain means we’ll have a safer summer season ahead. It’s been another busy and exciting few weeks in Dartmouth South. I recently had the opportunity to tour Banook Canoe Club’s beautiful new facilities. The club members have been patient and it has paid off with beautifully upgraded facilities and a modern and accessible event space. I look forward to attending many more events there in the future.
On Saturday, I also had the pleasure of volunteering at the Dartmouth Heritage Museum’s beautiful Mother’s Day Tea. I love this event and this museum remains a jewel, we were especially excited to see Joe Howe back to his usual post as we celebrated the mothers of Dartmouth.
There are so many more wonderful community events coming up in Dartmouth South over the next few weeks. NovaFest is happening this weekend, and I hope to see some of you there. On May 30, Grace United Church will be hosting a perennial sale and other garden sales abound this time of year. The Sanctuary Arts Centre has an amazing slate of programming this month, and in early June Eastern Front Theatre will present the Early Stages Festival at Alderney Landing.
Your voice matters so much. Over the past month, I’ve received thousands of emails and phone calls, and those conversations help inform the work that I, and all MLAs across Nova Scotia, do every day. Please continue sharing your thoughts, concerns, and ideas, and keep advocating for what you believe in.
Pop into my office and let me know what your priorities are! Hope to see you soon.
As always, if you need assistance, please reach out to my office at 902-406-2301 or claudiachendermla@gmail.com.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Claudia
