‘It’s absolutely time to open the gates,’ N.S. opposition politicians urge government

On Wednesday afternoon, NDP and Official Opposition Leader Claudia Chender accused the government of using that protest as a pretext for stifling democracy.

“There is no excuse for keeping this House (of Assembly) closed,” Chender told reporters.

“Our family members can’t visit, school groups can’t visit, people who are impacted by the decisions of this government that they continue to be upset about are literally locked out of this house. It’s absolutely time to open the gates.” …
