Chender says current Nova Scotia budget rush 'a real miscarriage of the whole meaning of this house' as Houston remains away
Opposition leaders said advancing the Appropriations Act while public hearings on the broader budget and FMA are still underway would limit scrutiny and public input.
“If it does, I think it will be a real miscarriage of the whole meaning of this house,” said NDP Leader Claudia Chender. “To pass the Appropriations Act, which would essentially make these cuts permanent, you know, insofar as the budget goes . . . would be, I think, a real travesty.”
