Nova Scotia exploring community control for some museums hit by big budget funding cuts

Opposition members have pushed back on the cuts and how they were made. 

NDP Leader Claudia Chender told the legislature that the moves will cause major losses of jobs and community programs, and the cuts have already thrown people for a loop. 

“This cavalier approach has eroded trust and actively destabilizes a sector that serves as essential cultural and economic infrastructure across Nova Scotia,” Chender said, reading from a statement put out by the Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM).

“In their words, trust is broken.”
