Nova Scotia invests nearly $9M in new affordable housing for Dartmouth

NDP Leader Claudia Chender said addressing the major need for affordable housing in Halifax and across Nova Scotia means enabling more than one-bedroom units. 

She said it's especially important to increase the multi-bedroom options for people who need to leave a dangerous situation with children, at a time when the province has declared an epidemic of intimate-partner violence.

"This is an example of where the tail wags the dog — the government follows the developers. We need this government to prioritize affordable housing for all kinds of people and families," Chender said.
