Opposition slams Houston for lack of accountability on Nova Scotia Power issues

NDP Leader Claudia Chender said the premier is selectively choosing when to act in his role as minister of energy that he assigned himself in October. 

“He’s really picking and choosing where he shows up as minister of energy. You know, he wants us to forget . . . that he is the minister of Nova Scotia power and that all of this energy that he’s trying to drum up isn’t going to do anything for Nova Scotians,” she said. 

Chender said that by framing Nova Scotia Power as a private company acting independently, the government is avoiding accountability and blocking witnesses who could provide clarity.
