Affordability struggle: 46,000 Nova Scotians being left out of heat rebate program

“Not only is the Houston government refusing to help lower costs for Nova Scotians, last week they cut hundreds of dollars for folks counting on the heating assistance rebate program,” said Opposition Leader Claudia Chender at a news conference inside Province House on Wednesday.

She said 46,000 people have been “kicked off the program entirely” and called on the Houston government to reverse this decision. Another 72,000 low-income Nova Scotians who are still eligible will be getting $200 less.
