Summer events roundup

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Happy belated Natal Day to everyone! It was a beautiful event-filled weekend, and I was very lucky to be walking behind the DDBC crew (the mini ferry!) and the Best Float award winners, JCANS, with some truly great music!

We also had a very successful Pride Picnic the prior weekend with the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning. Thanks to everyone who came out! About 100 people stopped in to listen to the Elderberries tell tales of queer history, make bracelets, add to the community painting, have a hot dog, and just play games on the Christ Church lawn. It truly was a wonderful day.

Finally, our Tenants’ Rights event with Dal Legal Aid and ACORN was attended by a real cross section of community members. From our event alone, it was clear that the housing crisis is affecting everyone from renters to landlords, students to seniors, low income to middle income and retirees. We will return to the legislature this fall and I will continue to fight for accessible, affordable, safe, dignified living for all. Remember that I have a list of housing support options on my website.

There were two information sheets available at this event. You can find the one from my office here and the one from Dalhousie Legal Aid here.

As always, if you need assistance, please reach out to my office at 902-406-2301 or claudiachendermla@gmail.com.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Claudia
