Improv NigImprov Night at LifeSchoolHouse!!
“Need some joy and silliness and creativity in your life? Come and be a part of the art of improv!
Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live comedy in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a scene or story are made up on the spot, based entirely off audience suggestions. In this case - attendees are both the audience AND the actors! We will learn about this art form from Tyler Colbourne, an improviser, self-taught photographer, community worker, media wanderer, jokester, and puppy dog lover. This two-hour intro to improv workshop with will focus on improv games, warm-ups, and a little bit of scene work. The central principle of improv is "Yes, And" and this principle can be applied to all areas of life! Improv has been proven to help with increasing confidence, lessening anxiety, and getting you to think outside of the box.
If you want to know what you are getting yourself into check out "TeeJohnny" on social media to check out his weirdness and photography. He has also started a Podcast called Quirky And Or Queer, focused on people’s experiences of otherness and how it relates to their careers, love lifes, and creative pursuits - well worth a peek!
Potluck snacks are welcome at this gathering!
If this is your first time attending a barter-based skills-trade class, note that attendees are also encouraged to bring an item(s) to offer in exchange for the knowledge shared. Our facilitator's preferred items are listed below to help make fair trades:
Soy/beeswax candles, fresh veggies, baked goods, chocolate, nice pens, coffee beans
