Task Force on Commemoration - Public Engagement Session
“The Task Force on the Commemoration of Edward Cornwallis and the Recognition and Commemoration of Indigenous History is hosting four public engagement sessions in June to seek public input. Join us at the Zatzman Sportsplex, Nantucket Room.
Residents are invited to present their recommendations on the following:
- How best to recognize and commemorate Indigenous history, in the area now known as the Halifax Regional Municipality, as part of a more complete history of the area
- The commemoration of Edward Cornwallis on municipal assets including the statue, park and street
Residents who wish to speak must sign-up upon arrival. Each presenter will be given seven (7) minutes to address the Task Force. Presentations are to be delivered verbally (audio-visual equipment will be limited to a microphone).
Presenters, as well as anyone who wishes to share their recommendations in writing, are encouraged to email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
