The mission of the Evergreen Concert Series is to showcase folk music and lore from Nova Scotia, Canada and beyond.
We want to create an intimate environment where the audience and the artist can connect and share in the experience of a performance.
Imagine gathering around the kitchen table and listening to a family member or neighbour sing an ancient ballad, or tell a chilling ghost story. We want to recreate an atmosphere much like that of the field recordings that Dartmouth folklorist Helen Creighton worked to collect and archive during her career.
Here, in the Victorian parlour of her former home, we will host folk music performers from all over. Together, we can keep the tradition of song-sharing and story-telling alive in our community. “
