Dartmouth - Sponsored Standup Paddle Boarding Trip for Teen Girls (Free)

"Girls On Boards is a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower tomorrow's female leaders by building their confidence today.

We sponsor body positive paddle boarding trips for teen girls ages 13-19 to help them relearn how to trust themselves, love their bodies and paddle their own journey.

Here's the details of our Girls on Boards Paddleboarding trip at Lake Banook, Dartmouth, NS

1. We're going to meet at the dock at 300 Prince Albert Rd at 6:30pm. Please arrange your transporation here and be ready to join our group right at 6:30pm. Look for the Girls on Boards sign out on the dock and a bunch of paddleboards ready to go! All equipment will be provided to participants.

2. We will start the evening with a group talk, an intro to paddleboarding and safety lesson. We'll all do a couple warmups, get on our life jackets and slowly paddle out into calm water (we won't be going if it's raining or bad weather!)

3. We will go for a paddle along the shore, stopping at a cove to do a little yoga, a group discussion and have a little fun, and then head back to the dock by 8:45pm.

4. We'll stretch and have a quick chat session and debriefing before heading off.

What to wear? Shorts or leggings, clothing you'd be ok to swim in if you fall in (you probably won't) no hoodies please!

What I need to know before heading out. I need you to be able to swim at the capacity to reach your paddle board with your life jacket on. I also require a signed waiver form from your parents for all participants under 19 years of age. (This will be sent to you, so you can print it out, have it signed and bring it with you)

Media - we will be taking a couple photo's/videos of the event as promotional material so I need you to be ok with that. If you are uncomfortable with that at all, please let me know and I will ensure we don't share pictures with you in them. You will be welcome to use the photos and videos, hashtag and share them all you want! During the Girls on Boards SUP experience your phones/gopro's/cameras are going to stay on shore because I totally want you to be completely present for the whole experience.

Our goal with Girls on Boards is to spread body positivity, confidence and community. Life's too short to worry about how you look, it's so much more important to love how you feel!

Please ensure that you confirm your coveted spot and give us 24hr notice if you do need to cancel for any reason."
