McNabs Island Adventure 2018

"'The Take Action Society' & the McPhee Center for Creative Learning will be taking a trip to McNabs Island again this year!

The Purpose of the trip is to Explore the forts and History of the Island.

A Parent or Guardian Must Accompany the Member! Space on the boat is limited and available on a First Come, First Serve basis. Therefore we need to know if you and your child will be attending so you can be pre-registered. If you are not able to attend with your child please contact us at 902-209-1900, there may be a possibility of another parent taking on the responsibility of your child.

Please wear your sneakers and definitely no flip flops! We will be walking a fair distance over beach stones. Wearing flip flops or something similar can lead to injuries.

You will need to wear a jacket! Even if the weather is nice in the morning, it is cold on the boat! And the weather could change in the afternoon. Remember we don’t leave the Island until 4:00pm.

Where this is an all-day event you will need to bring a lunch and snacks for the morning and afternoon. We ask that you do not bring anything other than your lunch, snacks and a change of clothes, in the case of accidents. We will not be responsible for carrying members back packs, nor will we be responsible for any lost items.

We will meet at the Dartmouth North Community Center, or the Demetreous Lane Community Center on Saturday May 26, 2018, between 7:00am and 7:30am.

We will then take the bus (tickets will be provided) over to Murphy’s on the Water, Cable Wharf, on the Halifax Waterfront. We must be there before 9:30am, or the boat will leave without us!

The boat will leave the island around 4:00pm and take us back to Murphy’s on the Water in Halifax, where we will catch the ferry over to Dartmouth, then take the bus back to the Center. We should arrive back to the Centre between 6-6:30pm."
